Bible Study Feeding Station for Snowbirds

A Bible study fellowship aimed at snowbirds, called “Bible Study Feeding Station for Snowbirds,” meets one morning a week during the winter months in Zion’s Fellowship Hall. Beginning December 8, 2005, it grew out of Zion’s desire to meet the spiritual needs of temporary resident snowbirds in Baldwin County. Coffee is available, but the food for thought is God’s Word, beginning with Philippians.
Ohio Snowbirds Jo Ann and John A. Roberts have stayed on the beach for a month each winter since 1990. They are regular attendees at Silverhill’s Zion Lutheran Church. Click to enlarge.
This project grew out of a recognition that there is a desire for spiritual food among snowbirds. Snowbird demographics and migration patterns have changed in the last 20 years. In the 80s and 90s snowbirds clustered along the beaches. Today we know that the snowbirds no longer just go to the towns and cities immediately on the beach. In fact, we have a sense that snowbirds are dispersed throughout Baldwin County because we encounter them in our stores, on our highways, and in the pews of our churches in North, Central, and South Baldwin County.
All snowbird visitors are invited to join any of Zion’s groups that meet.
