This month's special guest should have been Jason Spencer, who might have discussed Eloise Head's plans for a fresh produce store and restaurant in Silverhill.

Mrs. Cathy Rogers, Prinicipal of Silverhill School, was this month's special guest.
Cathy Rogers discussed the case for a penny sales tax to last three years to see the Baldwin County Public School system through this dramatic downturn in our economy. She said that a significant portion of school budget expenses has been tied to state sales tax receipts which are down dramatically, leaving local school districts in dismal straits. Either school services are decimated by personnel cuts or funds must be found. A 36 month increase of our Baldwin County sales tax is on the ballot in February.

RNs Jacque Johnson and Dana Smith (l to r) from Fairhope's Church of the Eastern Shore discussed the impact of medical mission coupled with showings of the "Jesus Film" in Tanzania. Johnson and Smith joined other team members to bring the Gospel to Tanzania on their recent summer medical mission trip.
"We are both nurses," they said. "Our Church of the Eastern Shore has been involved with 'Here's Life Mission Africa' (HLMA) for several years. Our health care strategy is very basic. People come to our clinic. The clinics are set up perhaps on cleared earth or a piece of concrete slab. People will come and be triaged by complaint and directed to the pharmacy for appropriate medicine. We may be involved in wound care."
